WASHINGTON COUNTY, MD - The Hospice of Washington County is celebrating their work in the community with the Gift of Life event taking place on Tuesday night.

The slogan for the night will be "Believing in Life."

The Hospice works with people who face a terminal illness and lend support to their family members.

There will be a special performance by Grammy Nominated singer and songwriter Karen Taylor-Good.

The Hospice says through donations, the Gift of Life event raised about $50,000 last year.

"When you have your angels around you, it's not scary when you have the knowledge and the support and that's what Hospice does," says Karen Taylor-Good, Grammy Nominated Singer and Songwriter.

"20 years ago, I lost a daughter to cancer and I felt that the kind of care that I got from a hospice like organization was very, very useful," says Ira Lourie, Chief Operating Officer of the Hospice of Washington County.

This event is absolutely free. To find out if tickets are still available for Tuesday, November 13 call the Hospice at (301) 791-6360.
