WINCHESTER, VA - After weeks of a close watch, the city of Winchester in Virginia now knows who will be their mayor and it's a face and name they recognize.

Locals in the city are welcoming Elizabeth Minor, who is not only the winning mayor for Winchester, but was running for her third term.

She recently had a mayoral forum at the Handley Regional Library with her opponent, Patrick Farris, where they addressed budgeting issues, infrastructure, and the importance of education expansion.

After Minor's victory was declared, she gathered at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel in Winchester with her supporters to celebrate.

Friends and family shook her hands, exchanged hugs and wished her the best in serving as mayor once again.

"I'm very excited. I just found out probably ten minutes ago so I'm on cloud nine right now," says Minor.

Minor was first elected as in mayor in 2004 and says she will not let the people of Winchester down.
