Horse Dies after being Struck by Motorist

HAGERSTOWN, MD - Deputies of the Washington County Sheriff's Office say a horse died Thursday after being struck by a motorist on Broadfording Road.
Police say the horse was seen wandering loose near the owner's residence. They say the horse had been standing directly in the road way when it was struck.
Police say additional horses were found out of their pens and the owners were not able to be contacted at the time of the incident. They say the horses appeared to be malnourished and the Washington County SPCA was contacted.
SPCA will be contacting the owners.
