FREDERICK COUNTY, MD - Two boys who went rafting in the swollen waters near Walkersville had to be rescued Tuesday afternoon after rescue crews found them clinging to trees.

A Maryland State Police helicopter and local fire and rescue crews helped pulled them to safety.  They were treated for hypothermia.

Meantime, the Monocacy River continued to rise in the Buckeystown area, submerging popular places like Pine Cliff Park.

It may not return to normal until Friday, according to WHAG Meteorologist Bryan Tolle.

The high water closed several roads, including a section of Buckeystown Pike.

According to the Frederick County Highway Superintendent, portions of Michaels Mill Road and Buckeystown Pike may get worse due to flood waters overnight Tuesday.
