TODAY: Heavy rain has developed in parts of our region as we anticipate the arrival of Hurricane Sandy. Sandy will make landfall in Southern New Jersey late tonight. The wind and rain will steadily increase as the day progresses. The worst of the conditions will be from noon today into tonight and early tomorrow morning. Rainfall totals with Sandy will range from 3-6 inches with isolated heavier amounts possible. A high wind warning is in effect from 8am Monday - 8pm Tuesday. Winds are expected to gust between 50-60 mph with higher gusts to the east.

A FLOOD WARNING is in effect for the Monocacy River in Frederick County where it is expected to reach major flood stage by Tuesday morning.

A BLIZZARD WARNING is in effect from late tonight into Tuesday in the high elevations of Garrett County in MD and Western Mineral and Grant Counties in WV. Up to a foot of snow is possible, especially at elevations above 2000 feet.

TONIGHT: Windy and rainy. Some of it will be heavy at times. Winds will gust up to 60 mph throughout the evening. Low 40.

TUESDAY: Sandy parks itself over us with gusty winds and rain. The rain lightens up in the afternoon and so does the wind.  Flooding is likely along creeks and streams. Power outages are likely with fallen trees and power lines. It will be chilly with a high only in the low 40s.

HALLOWEEN: Mostly cloudy and chilly with a shower possible. High 47.

THURSDAY: Expect more clouds than sun with temperatures in the upper 40s.

FRIDAY: Partly sunny and cool. High: Low 50s.

SATURDAY: A mix of clouds and sun. High: Low 50s.

SUNDAY: Mostly sunny and cool. High: 54.
