Sheriff's Office Makes Four Arrests in Violent Home Invasion

WALKERSVILLE, MD - The Frederick County Sheriff's Office has made four arrests after a violent home invasion in Walkersville.

William Goss is used to a peaceful neighborhood where he can walk his dogs and allow his kids to play on a swing set yards from his home. However, that peace came to an end this weekend.

"I was expecting a big bang or something. I've never seen that many people just roll in here with full armored gear and everything else. It was like a movie," Goss said.

"Safety is obviously a concern with my children," said Nicole Shew, a neighbor.

Shew had to wait on the road for five hours while the sheriff's office negotiated with four suspects. The incident began just after 10 p.m. Saturday. It happened at a home along the 8400 block of Vision Lane.

"It was a few cops and then it was dozens and dozens and dozens that were coming," Shew said. "I would say all in all, over 100 cops were in the area."

"Shortly after we arrived, we made contact with a female resident who was bound with her hands behind her back and duck tape across her mouth," Frederick County Sheriff Chuck Jenkins said.

Jenkins says the resident is a 39-year-old woman, but her name is not being released.

"We made entry into the house and eventually found the suspects hiding," Jenkins said. "The female was hiding under a pile of clothes, and the three male suspects were hiding in the attic."

The sheriff's office arrested Cheryl A. White and found she was carrying a gun. Keith B. White, Jesse G. Mears, and Diontre J. Johnson are also in custody. Keith and Cheryl White were also charged with using a firearm during a crime of violence. All four suspects are from Baltimore.

"After the suspects were taken into custody, we did execute a search and seizure warrant, and that's when we established the fact that the home was being used to package and sell cocaine," Jenkins said.

No charges have been filed against the victim in connection with the drug charges.

The four suspects face numerous charges, including robbery, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery with a deadly weapon, breaking and entering, and theft. They remain in the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
