Music was on full blast as students at Gainesboro Elementary School spent one hour jogging and walking. The event was held to raise $20,000 for the school.
Students sent letters home to family and friends asking to sponsor them in the race. The money will be used to purchase laptops, smartboards and other materials that will improve students' math lessons.
Members of the community cheered them on.
"It will enhance their instruction, help prepare students for twenty-first century skills, and help us increase our rigor," says Thea Clark, fifth grade teacher at Gainesboro Elementary School.
The school says if they reach their goal, the principal will kiss a cow.
