FREDERICK COUNTY, VA - The death of the 17-year-old high school student has left loved ones in mourning and police scrambling for answers.

Rhett Goldizen, 17, was pronounced dead at his home early Thursday after a shooting.

He was a senior at James Wood High School, according to his obituary.

He attended the youth group at Woodbine Assembly of God, and he had his own band "Metaphor and Memory." His obituary describes him as "very artistic."

"Everybody knows his name," Captain Allen Sibert with the Frederick County Sheriff's Office told WHAG.

Sibert says they are waiting for the results of an autopsy.

Police are not releasing specifics about the investigation, but they are searching for two suspects that family members say came to the house.

"It appears right now that they came thru the front door and rang the doorbell of the house and then possibly presented a vehicle problem they were having," Sibert said.  "The owner at that point realized that one of the suspects was armed."

Police say the owner did not know the two men and the suspects still have not been found.

Both suspects are white men in their twenties. One of the suspects is about six-foot tall, wearing a brown jacket, blue jeans and a baseball cap. The other man was wearing blue jeans and boots.

The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, from 7:00-9:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chape.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Reverend Stephanie Fox officiating. Interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shenandoah Arts Council and Gallery, 811 South Loudoun Street, Winchester, Virginia 22601.
