There are 7014 - the number of women who will get breast cancer in Washington County, based on statistics.
Janet Lung with Breast Cancer Awareness Cumberland Valley came up with the idea for a pink field. She's a breast cancer survivor of 12 years, and says it's important to do monthly self exams.
"The importance of early detection," she says. "It's very important that women do their monthly breast exam and get that early mammogram, it's a very important life saving tool."
The pink flags will be pinned for the rest of October.
