"Maryland Municipal League has brought all city and town leaders to Hagerstown to celebrate the 25th birthday of the City of Hagerstown. We're actually having a fall conference but we're taking advantage of this wondeful celebration of the City of Hagerstown," says Scott Hancock of the Maryland Municipal League.
Held at the Clarion Hotel in Hagerstown, many were proud to see the city was chosen to host this annual event.
Mayor Bruchey celebrated the city's 250th anniversary with hundreds of mayors from all over Maryland.
"Hagerstown is a wonderful town and everybody should come here especially on their 250th anniversary. Greenbelt is celebrating its 75th. We're just a baby compared to Hagerstown. But we are pleased and we are congratulating Hagerstown," says Judith Davis of MML.
Many say this event serves as a unique opportunity for leaders to network with one another in order to learn how they can better their own communities.
"So it's a great time for the city to showcase how wonderful our city and citizens are. But it's also a great time for my peers to visit and see all the wonders we have to offer here," says Bruchey.
A giant celebration that only happens once in history.
