HAGERSTOWN - Three people inside an apartment building in Hagerstown's west end were rushed to the hospital for symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning.

One man had severe symptoms, according to rescue personnel on the scene.  Two other people in the home were also taken to the hospital.

Firefighters traced the carbon monoxide leak to a hot water heater.

The building at 804 Washington Avenue houses several apartments, according to officials.

Fire crews were ventilating the home as of 4:25 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
