FREDERICK COUNTY, VA - It's been a battle for 63 Frederick County Deputies on the clock. Recently, overtime pay hasn't been in their favor.
Leaders met to try and settle the claim, but deputies say the offer was not good enough.
"The deputies are definitely frustrated at this point. They have not been given raises to my understanding for several years now. Their pay has been flat and here they are with overtime, and they're not getting paid time and a half like every other employee in the county would get paid," says Attorney, Tom Bosson, representing the deputies.
Bosson added the more appropriate amount would be $200,000 but Attorney Roderick Williams said that amount is wrong.
"Even if one were to reach the three years where Mr. Bosson is what he seeking is really more than three years. They didn't file a court case until April of this year, they didn't file an administrative claim with us until July of this year, yet somehow it seems that there's an attempt to reach back into more of 2009," says Attorney, Roderick Williams, representing Frederick County.
Deputies say they will continue to fight until their three years worth of work is paid for.
Depositions will be held with the Sheriff's office and the county next week.
There will also be a jury trial at the end of October to decide if the county will remain apart of this case.
