Frederick Middle School Students Learning About Professional Jobs

FREDERICK, MD-Frederick County middle school students are learning about professional jobs and how they connect to subjects in the classroom.
The 8th grade students from St. John Regional Catholic school were participating in Job Shadow Day at Bechtel Corporation. It's a worldwide company that specializes in constructing power plants, pipelines, and defense facilities. The employees explained the importance of math and science in the field of civil engineering.
"I think this will be very cool to do as a job, I like science a lot and I like math. I think it would be really fun to do something like this," says Cecilia Bracey, an 8th grader, St. John Regional Catholic School.
More than 50 8th grade students from St. John Regional Catholic School participated in Job Shadow Day.
