Adventure Park USA Hosts Finest Car and Truck Show

NEW MARKET, MD - It was like show and tell, except this one was for antique cars and prizes were handed out for "Best Choice."

It was like taking a trip down memory lane. Cars from the 50s and 60s were brought back to life.

Adventure Park USA, one of Maryland's largest family fun centers, hosted its Finest Car and Truck Show that takes place twice a year.

A portion of the car show proceeds went towards raising awareness for the needs of severely injured service men and women.

"They're gathering cars and trucks and motorcycles. They have a show for the cars and have stunt shows and vendors," says Tom Hubert, vice president of the Christian Motorship Association.

Owners of the cars spent hours freshening up their vehicle while some soaked up the sun, with hopes of winning a trophy for "Best of Choice" or also known as the "Bosses' Choice."

"It's a very original car. They look for originality when they do their judging so they look for headstamps on bolts and things like that. They're very picky. Six judges spent about three hours going over the car," says Wayne Sullivan, a member of the National Corvette Restorers Society.

They had everything ranging from the chubby minivan, the trendy sports car and the old fashioned truck.

Some snapped pictures of the antiques while some also came for the adrenaline rush from the amusement rides.

"A lot of nice cars, riding rollercoasters, laser tag, just having a good time," says Eric Foelber, who came to enjoy the show and rollercoasters.

Over $500 in cash prizes were awarded and vendors were on standby for food specials all day long.

Adventure Park USA also offers families a variety of entertainment and will be hosting many upcoming Halloween events. For more information on these attractions, click here.
