"We have a great staff great teachers great support," says Bester Elementary Principal Kristi Bachtell.
But this long standing school hasn't aged very well.
"Cracks in the floors celings are not straight lots of structural issues and we want a clean and safe environment as our goal is to make children feel comfortable and nurtured and safe while they're at school," says Bachtell.
After years of trying to do something about it, Bester Elementary is finally getting its wish.
"The big news is last night at the Board of Education meeting Bester was awarded a bid which means for us we will start construction of our brand new building. So when we announced it we could hear cheers from the children and teachers all across the building, " says Bachtell.
While the new building is under construction, kids will still remain in the current building until 2014.
As soon as a building permit is secured, work on the multi-million dollar facility will begin. And many at Bester are thrilled.
We're so excited about it. The kids are going to be so excited. They work so hard they deserve this," says Bester Elementary teacher Theresa Mullican.
Once the new Bester is complete, the old Bester will be just a memory.
