The Storm Prediction Center has placed our area under a slight risk for severe weather with thunderstorms that may have gusty winds and even an isolated tornado associated with them.
TODAY: An area of low pressure is moving through our area from the south with plenty of rain for today. Expect a total of 1-2" of rain with locally higher amounts. A potent cold front approaches from the west later this afternoon and evening. The rain will be steady for much of the day. Later today, some strong thunderstorms may develop with gusty winds and heavy rain. It will be humid with a high of 74.
TONIGHT: Showers will continue early on, but expect things to dry out around midnight. It's a bit breezy and turning cooler with lows in the low to mid 50s.
WEDNESDAY: The storm departs and high pressure begins to move in. It will be much cooler and a bit breezy with highs in the upper 60s to near 70.
THURSDAY: A blend of clouds and sunshine. It will be cooler than average. High: 72.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny and seasonable. High: 77.
SATURDAY: A cold front moves in with a chance of a few showers. High: 74. Fall arrives at 10:49am.
SUNDAY: Still a bit unsettled with clouds and the chance of some showers. It will turn cooler with highs in the upper 60s.
MONDAY: Cool with mostly sunny skies. High: 68.
