The Patty Pollatos Fund will hold an event on September 7th to promote the Frederick 48. The preview event will kick off at the Carroll Creek Linear Park across from Five Guys at 11:15 a.m.
Representatives from 24 local charities, along with county commissioners, the mayor and state senators, will be there.
The Frederick 48 will take place on September 27th and 28th. It raises money for human needs-based charities, like the Frederick Rescue Mission and the Heartly House.
"I see with the community coming together and giving more, I see more of a healing process and more togetherness with the community. I can tell you right now Frederick County has grown by leaps and bounds, but it still has that small-town attitude of help thy neighbor in need," says Debbie Williams, Executive Director of the Patty Pollatos Fund.
"We don't take any government funding. We're here because people want us to be, and when they don't want us to be, they know how to let us know. That's how we make it. It's on the good will and the desire of people to see lives changed," says Arnold Farlow, Executive Director of the Frederick Rescue Mission.
Those with the Patty Pollatos Fund and county commission president, Blaine young, are going around now finding people to match the donations.
