Chambersburg Hospital Reaches Agreement With Workers

Employees held a rally last month. Their contract expired June 30th. Healthcare was a big issue in the negotiations.
Under the new contract, employees will pay for their healthcare benefits, but will recieve wage increases and bonuses to cover the costs. The average worker sees a raise of 10 percent over the 4 years of the agreement.
Summit health owns the hospital and is the largest employer in the county. The union represents 1300 employees.
