BRUNSWICK, MD - Living by the train tracks, some Brunswick residents expect to hear some noise, but this is what they didn't anticipate.

"I haven't seen anything like this that was fast and furious," said Eric Leppanen, Brunswick resident.

Storms went through Leppanen's town Friday night leaving behind a mess. There were branches on the roads and power lines tangled like ropes.

It also left residents in the dark. Many of them headed to Sheetz or McDonalds in town where there was power just to get coffee, gas, and other necessities.

Main Street was unusually quiet for a Saturday afternoon. Nearly all the shops closed because they didn't have power.

"Saturday is our busiest day for shopping," says Diane Ellis, a business owner. "It's a little disheartening to see this."

While business owners may be feeling the pain so will residents who are just waiting to see the light again.

"If it takes a few days to do this we'll all be in trouble," says Raymond Truitt, a Brunswick resident.
