Maryland Habitat for Humanity Raising Money Through Telethon

FREDERICK, MD - The Habitat for Humanity of Frederick County will be making calls trying to raise money to build homes for the less fortunate.

Volunteers will call people throughout the county, and try to raise $25,000, but this Friday.

Habitat for Humanity will also send out postcards to past donors, encouraging them to continue supporting the non-profit.

Those with the organization say housing prices have gone down through most of the state, but not in Frederick County.

They hope the donations can help them continue supporting the community.

The non-profit wants to build eight new homes in the county this year. They've built or renovated 31 homes in the county since 1995.
