GARRETT COUNTY, MD - Two people are dead after a single-vehicle crash Friday morning in Garrett County.
The driver, Kanubhal Bhagat, and a passenger, Pushpaben Bhagat, of New Jersey were killed in the crash.
It happened around 6 a.m. off Interstate 68 by the 5 mile marker in Friendsville. Authorities say the driver was going westbound, drifted into the median and hit a guardrail. The vehicle then went back into the lanes, went down an embankment, and struck a highway sign. The vehicle was split in half.
Authorities say a family of five were in the vehicle. The investigation is still on going.
