Congratulations to this month's Hagerstown Ford, WHAG's Student Athletes of the Month.

This month's male student athlete is Garrett Grantham.  The recent Jefferson High School graduate leaves the cougars as the school's all-time leading scorer on the basketball court, all the while pulling his weight as part of the National Honors Society, with a 3.80 GPA.

Grantham said, "I just wanted to work hard in the classroom, because that's what's going to keep you going after college, so I wanted to get an athletic and academic scholarship."

And that's just what Grantham did, as he was offered a full ride at West Virginia Wesleyan, where he'll major in business administration and sports management. And, of course, play basketball.

"I can't wait. Pat Beilein just got the head coaching job. He's the son of Michigan Head Coach, John Beilein.  I can't wait to go there and play basketball," he said.
