For his 9th birthday, Griffin asked his family and friends to donate money to two of his favorite charities, the Washington County Humane Society and Lacrosse for Leukemia.
This is the second year Griffin has donated his birthday money to charity.
Lacrosse for Leukemia was a chosen charity because a player on Griffin's favorite college team, Salisbury University, was recently diagnosed with leukemia.
Griffin was able to raise $600 to divide between the two charities.
At age 7, Griffin was also the youngest participant to dive into the cold Potomac River in 2010's Polar Bear Plunge, which benefits the Humane Society.
Griffin is a student at Williamsport Elementary.
