A police dashboard camera helped one Cincinnati police officer keep his job.
Officer John Haynes was suspended in January 2001 after his patrol car dashcam showed him hitting a suspect. Haynes was responding to a call of a disturbance at a high school when he literally ran into the 18-year-old suspect.
The suspect, charged with criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest eventually recovered from his injuries. A grand jury looking into the incident cleared officer Haynes of any criminal charges after watching this video.
Five years later, Haynes remains with the Cincinnati Police Department.
