Emily Hargreaves, Smithsburg

Congratulations to the NBC25 Student Athletes of the Month.  Our female Student Athlete of the Month is Emily Hargreaves, a senior at Smithsburg High School.  Emily is a captain on the soccer team and also a basketball player for the leopards.  Hargreaves is an All-MVAL and All-County basketball player.

"I work hard, and after I go home from practice I always have tons and tons of homework to do and just make sure I get it done even if it means staying up until midnight," says Emily.

Off the field, Emily is a member of the Student Government Association, National Honor Society, Crow Creek Mission Team and holds both a Maryland and Faculty distinguished honor.  She sports a 4.29 G.P.A. and plans to go to West Virginia University to major in biochemistry.

Emily: "my parents have really pushed me to do well in the classroom. They're both teacher so school work and academics has always been a top priority."
