It happened last night around 11:30. Hagerstown Police said a man and his two friends agreed to give 20-year-old Jason Fitzgerald of Clear Spring a ride when his car supposedly broke down on the Dual Highway.
The victim said when they arrived at Madison Avenue; Fitzgerald began assaulting him and his friends, demanding the car.
Police said at that point the victim sped all the way to the police station.
Fitzgerald then jumped out and when the victim followed he hit the back windshield with a baseball bat.
Police havent located Fitzgerald yet. He faces two carjacking charges. It turns out that broken down car on the Dual Highway he was picked up in was also stolen.
