Allegany County Youth dancers, musicians, soloist and high school choral groups will combine talents to perform "9-11 A Tribute to the Heroes of Flight 93" to be held at Allegany Community College on Monday, September 11th at 7:00 p.m. All proceeds from the performance will be donated to the Flight 93 Memorial Fund. Tickets for the performance are $25.00 and may be purchased at the door or in advance by contacting Frostburg Dance Academy at 301-689-2900. The performers will be traveling to Shanksville on Saturday, September 16th to present the county with the money raised and will be performing a few numbers at the crash site. All sponsors, community friends and supporters are welcome to join the group for the trip. The accident happened Sunday night around 9:30 p.m. on Route 340, west of Catoctin Creek. Maryland State Police said 34-year-old Patricia Thompson of Knoxville lost control of her car. Police said it traveled into the median and overturned. Thompson was thrown from the car. She was flown to Washington County Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Two of her children, ages 10 and 11 were taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital. They were not seriously injured.
