Workers gathered outside the medical center Tuesday night to protest for Diane Palmers removal while an emergency meeting was held inside. Hospital doctors called that emergency meeting with the Board of Directors after a second top official Jason Hawkins announced he was resigning.
Workers said Hawkins was the glue holding the hospital
Patrick Kelso, a hospital employee, said that "We have a board that wont listen to the community and the doctors. Also [we have] a CEO who is a chairman of the board and also a CEO which we feel is a conflict of interest."
According to a statement released by the hospital Board of Directors, Palmer will remain on the board, but will no longer be CEO.
Jason Hawkins, who initially resigned as CFO, will serve as interim CEO until another person is named to the position.
