Whether Brandon Morris Will Face the Death Penalty Still in Question

This comes after Morriss attorneys filed 50 motions in circuit court opposing the death penalty as a sentencing option.
Morris is charged with first-degree murder in the death of correctional officer Jeffery Wroten.
Motions include a request to limit victim impact testimony to a single person. They also argued the sentencing proceedings were unconstitutional.
A hearing for the death penalty motions is set for September 20th.
