Washington County Commissioners Approve Million Dollar Project

By: Import User
Updated: February 6, 2007
They have agreed to pay for new sewer pipes for residents there. Contractors said the old pipes that were built back in the 60s are leaking water; causing problems for homeowners. Board members said itll mean better water service in Halfway. "There are several thousand homes in Halfway area that will be affected by this because it is the oldest system and by the savings of this we could hook up some extra homes or businesses because of the capacity issues that are occurring throughout the whole county. This is a big step for fixing the sewer lines," said Gregory Snook, President of the commission. The construction company plans to use robots to help install the new sewer lines.
