The Deep Creek Fire Department said the propane leak happened on Town Center Way which runs in between Deep Creek Drive and Garrett Highway. Maryland State Police evacuated a 300-foot perimeter, including eleven businesses near McHenry Plaza. Investigators said the 1,000 gallon tank of propane was damaged by a piece of construction. Surrounding streets have been blocked off at the request of the state fire marshals office until further notice. The cause of the gas leak is still under investigation.
