Organizers braved the heat to get ready for it all. Every year on the first of August, more than 30-million people across the county join forces to promote community-police partnerships. Its basically a time when Sheriff Deputies and City Police Officers come out and mingle with the people they serve and protect everyday. There are several national night events taking place across Maryland. In Hagerstown, National Night Out celebrations will be taking place at the Martin Luther King Memorial Recreation Center. There will be food, vendor, face-painting and a neighborhood walk will begin at 8 p.m. In Frederick, there are five places you can go; they include Sagner Housing Complex, Hill Street Park, Mullinix Park, Stonegate Park, and at Amber Meadows. All of the events are kicking off at 6 p.m. on Tuesday night.
