Rain showers forced quite a few people to leave Byron Memorial Park in Williamsport. Before the rain, gleaming antique cars cruised in to the lot.
"This is what Henry Ford did back in the early days and theyve got a distinctive look, so you know its about as American as you can get," said Mitchell Bidle, Hub City Model A Club Member.
According to Council Member Jeffrey Cline, the festivities are all about honoring small-town America.
"What were doing here today, with a number of volunteers, is showing not whats just right with Williamsport, but whats right with America with these celebrations were having," said Jeffrey Cline, Council Member of the town of Williamsport.
While some celebrate with antique cars, others, like the 4-Star Gymnastics Club, physically "spring" into the 4th!
"We helped sponsor the fireworks. So, we came today to be a part of the fireworks production in the park theyre having tonight," said Nica Sutch, 4-Star Gymnastics.
Some even celebrate Independence Day with body art! "I got tattoos for the 4th of July and I thought these two would be pretty," said Brittani Jobe, 4-Star Gymnastics.
Volunteers estimate between 300 and 400 people showed up for a pancake breakfast, that was also part of the festivities, on Tuesday morning.
