The Centers mission is to prevent child abuse and help young parents get the resources they need to raise a child.
Numerous guests participated in the event, including Congressman Roscoe Bartlett, Hagerstown Mayor Bob Bruchey, and other community leaders and businessmen. Dozens of volunteers manned the phones while several entertainers graced the stage.
"Todays fundraiser is the most important fundraiser for the Parent/Child Center all year long," said Dick Vidoni, one of the organizers of the event.
"All the money raised today goes to our programs that prevent child abuse," said Vince Delaposta, another organizer.
"So because of this, its the most important fundraiser that we have all day," said Millie Lowman, another organizer.
