Young Child Injured in Washington County Accident

It happened around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday night in Smithsburg, near the intersection of Route-66 and Pondsville Road. Maryland state police said 25-year-old Katherine Adams lost control of her Dodge Intrepid. The car veered off the roadway, then struck a guardrail and another car. Her daughter was taken to Washington County Hospital with serious injuries. Adams and the other driver were not injured. The four-year-old was restrained in a child-safety seat.
