Cultured Stone Exterior

By: Amanda Campbell
Updated: August 12, 2010

We’re going to show you how to give your home the natural stone look with cultured stone that’s actually manufactured in a factory. One of the big advantages is it’s approximately half the cost of natural stone, but cost is just one of the many advantages you have when choosing cultured stone.

Cultured Stone is created by master craftsmen who select the best textures, sizes and shapes from the finest natural stones around the world. Cultured Stone is cast in molds made from these stones and finished in a process that replicates existing colors and textures with meticulous detail. Each color and texture has its own blend of ingredients: Portland cement, lightweight aggregates and iron oxide pigments. Even on close examination these manufactured stones look and feel like the originals.

Because Cultured Stone comes sized and shaped for quick, easy installation, and because it’s so light in weight that it needs no additional foundation or support, a cultured stone wall costs far less than a full-thickness natural stone wall. The average thickness of Cultured Stone is 1 ¾”. Thickness may vary from 1” to 3” depending on the texture. Indoors or out, cultured stone is durable and colorfast. And it’s covered by a 30-year limited warranty.

Stone Products Corporation began producing natural stone replicas in 1962 and soon after became the world’s largest manufactured stone producer. Cultured Stone has been selected to enhance thousands of buildings in Europe, Asia and the Americas because of its authentic natural look and feel and its superior quality, durability and value.
