Virginia Leans Towards School Bus Cameras

Two buses will kick off the trend and if the
results are successful the cameras will be permanently installed on every bus.
School officials say bus drivers see about
"They just always need to be watching for
school buses. Whenever they see a school bus, they need to be prepared that
that bus may stop at anytime," says Transportation Coordinator, Sherry
Whittington.
School officials say the cameras do not cost the
city any money. In fact they say the violation fees alone will probably take
care of the cost to install the cameras.
The test cameras for the trial will be
installed within the next couple of weeks.
