CHARLESTON, WV- The West Virginia AARP announced their legislative agenda for 2013.

The West Virginia AARP plan to adopt "Complete the Streets" legislation, a transportation concept that enhances safety, mobility and accessibility for all transportation users.

They're also working to protect older West Virginians against fraud and financial exploitation.

Another point of interest is enhancing retirement security by protecting retirees from their promised benefits.

"It's going to be able to allow our older population to get back outside, and to get back outside in a safer manner," says Bob Beach, West Virginia State Senator. "As we've talked earlier, it's just a changing of the mindset, it's not a mandate."

The AARP West Virginia leaders will discuss the organization's agenda and goals at the West Virginia state capitol.
