PECKTONVILLE, MD- Maryland State Police are investigating after a Pennsylvania man died in a one-car crash on I-70 Tuesday morning.

It happened at 8:53 a.m. on the westbound side of I-70, near the 10 mile marker.

Police say 22-year-old Dallas Lee Miller, of New Holland, Pa., was driving down the interstate when he lost control of the 1997 Audi he was driving. The vehicle skidded off the road and into the center median, where it truck a tree and partially ejected Miller from the car.

Miller's car had just passed two other vehicles before the crash. Police say witnesses called the Washington County 911 Center saying the vehicle was engulfed in flames.

Troopers from the Hagerstown Barrack of the Maryland State Police, along with local fire and EMS companies were immediately dispatched to the scene.

An off-duty MSP flight paramedic was on the scene within minutes, and with the help of two other people, pulled Miller, the only occupant, from the Audi.

Police say Miller received severe, traumatic injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say road conditions and speed contributed to the accident.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Senior Trooper Andre Bulter at (301)-766-3800.
