SMITHSBURG, MD - Hundreds showed their generosity as they turned out for a fundraiser at Smithsburg High School.

"Mitchell's Challenge" was held in honor of Mitchell Akers, a Washington County youth who died last year after being injured in an accident.

Shortly after his death a scholarship fund was established in his name.

Volunteer teams selected creative names as they competed in volleyball and dodge ball tournaments.

Duck Team 6 were the champions of the Dodge ball tournament. Duck Team 6 also won the most unique uniform prize, and For The Cause won the volleyball tournament.

If you were unable to attend Mitchell's Challenge and would still like to donate, please send a check to WHAG ATTN: MITCHELL'S CHALLENGE
