FREDERICK, MD- Dental bills can be very expensive, especially for low-income families. One local dental center in Frederick offered free services Friday for families in need.

It's part of National Children's Dental Health Month.

Dental offices through out the country, including the Pediatric Dental Center, of Frederick, provided free cleanings, oral health checks and cavity treatments for children from families who need financial assistance.

Local dentists say it's their way of helping the parents and giving their kids a smile.

"It feels great to be able to offer these services to our family members, because we know there are many people in the community who may not be able to afford the services," says Dr. Michelle Stovall of Pediatric Dental Center.

The Pediatric Dental Center of Frederick treated about 30 children from low-income families.
