FREDERICK COUNTY, MD- A Frederick County Jury has cleared a Maryland State Trooper accused of wrongful death of any wrongdoing.

The jury came back with the verdict shortly after 4 p.m. Friday.

Back in June 2010 authorities responded to a domestic call at a home along Liberty Road near the intersection of Green Valley Road by the town of Union Bridge.

The victim, Veronica Harding-Perkins, fired at State Troopers during a police stand-off.

The 46-year old then retreated inside her home. Later when Harding-Perkins came out of her home again she pointed a gun at police.

A trooper, Sgt. Eric Corbin, then fired several shots in her direction, killing her.

The family filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit in 2011 for wrongful death, excessive use of force and other allegations.

Harry, when do you plan on coming back to reality or at least sobering up? Your 6th grade education you have is coming through loud and clear. If someone takes a shot at you and you shoot back, in your twisted mind this is wrong. I%u2019m glad we have police that aren%u2019t afraid of doing their jobs when they are forced into these types of situations by idiots like you. I am a taxpayer as well (by the sounds of it might pay more taxes than you do) and I am glad he exerted his powers and took action before someone else was killed during this drunken enraged incident. It was terrible that this woman lost her life. When she picked up the gun, she pushed it to the next level. Instead of dealing with someone who is intoxicated the police were now dealing with someone who was intoxicated and had a gun. Harry, you feel that a person can do anything they want when drunk or high and they should be protected from themselves by any means possible. Even if it means someone else getting shot or killed. You are an adult. You drank the alcohol. You picked up the gun. You paid the price. I wonder why the police showed up at this residence anyway. Was it they were in the neighborhood and decided to stop by? Not likely. They were called by her husband. If he was looking for a therapist to help, he should have done that long before the night this happened. Take some responsibility for this. It doesn%u2019t always have to be someone else%u2019s fault. Oh, and Harry maybe you should have been a police officer. That way you could put into practice some of your great skills for handing these types of situations but we both know you can%u2019t. All you are capable of doing is sitting in your room and being an %u201Carm chair%u201D quarterback.
