SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV - It was a close call for one Shepherdstown man after a train clipped the front of his vehicle Tuesday afternoon.

Police say it happened at 3:25 p.m. at the East German Street crossing.

They say Leslie Russo, of Harpers Ferry, had pulled his Jeep Patriot close to the tracks at the crossing. The crossing arm then came down across his vehicle.

Police say a Norfolk Southern train traveling southbound clipped the front of his Jeep causing damage. The crossing arm was also damaged.

All three railroad crossings in Shepherdstown were blocked for about an hour.

Luckily, there were no injuries.
