Wintry Mix for Parts of the Four State Region Expected Tonight

By: WHAG Weather Team
Updated: January 15, 2013
HAGERSTOWN, MD -  A wintry mix of rain, sleet, freezing rain and some snow is expected late this evening and overnight for parts of the region.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the following areas until 11am Wednesday:

Rain will begin this evening over much of the region, but the highest elevations in Western Maryland and the Potomac Highlands will see temperatures cold enough for sleet and freezing rain. Some ice accumulation is possible in these areas, especially on elevated surfaces like trees and power lines. Southern Pennsylvania will also see a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain overnight with light accumulations of snow and sleet with a glaze of ice.

Around Hagerstown and points south and east, most of the precipitation will be rain, but some freezing rain is possible, especially in the Blue Ridge mountains in the higher elevations. Some ice accumulation is possible.

Stay with the WHAG Weather team with winter and severe weather hits the area, we'll keep you informed as these events roll though on their social media platforms as well as Your4State.com.
