House Engulfed in Flames in Funkstown

FUNKSTOWN, MD - Firefighters have closed down roads in Funkstown, where a fire spread through a home Friday afternoon.
Firefighters say they were called to the scene around 4 p.m. on Emmert Road. The intersection of Emmert Road and Beaver Creek Road is currently closed as firefighters clean up.
Firefighters say one woman was inside the home, and both she and her cat made it out safely.
They say the interior of the house is severely damaged.
Firefighters were able to put the fire out quickly, despite the fact there were no hydrants on the street. They had to bring in tankers to put out the blaze.
