HAGERSTOWN, MD- For many Christmas is a time of giving, and a chance for volunteers to give back with a season's greeting and a hot meal.

This year was no different; the 15th annual Christmas Meal Delivery Ministry kicked off in full swing in Hagerstown.

More than a 100 volunteers came to the Cold Weather Shelter Kitchen packing and delivering free meals for seniors living in assisted living centers.

Celebration Ministries led the mission. They say this was their way of showing love to those without family and suffering from major physical ailments.

"It's kind of overwhelming when you think about how many people will donate on Christmas Day, this is not like doing it, late into Christmas Eve, they are giving up their Christmas morning to show up and to make this become a reality to a lot of peoples' lives." says Clarence Horst of Celebration Ministries

Celebration Ministries delivered meals to people living at the Potomac and Walnut Towers, along with the Alexander House.
