HAGERSTOWN, MD- While Christmas is a day for gathering with family members and exchanging presents, many say it's also a day to celebrate the birth of their of savior Jesus Christ.

Many folks attended church services throughout day, including mass at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Hagerstown. They say Christmas is special day to praise and pay homage to the man they say is the son of God.

"Christmas day is the birth of our good lord, Jesus. He is our savior. It's a joy to give him praise because he is here to save us," says David Moats, who attended church service Tuesday morning.

Church services were held on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and will continue throughout the Christmas season in the four-state region.
