Blizzard, Winter Storm Warnings & Wind Advisory in Effect for Four State

HAGERSTOWN, MD - A very strong low pressure system will bring many different weather types to the Four State Region through the beginning of the weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued the following winter/severe weather alerts for the Four State Region:



Blizzard Warning:
Western Allegany, Western Grant & Western Mineral Counties through 6:00 PM Saturday.

Winter Storm Warning:
Garrett County, MD and Somerset County, PA through 6:00 PM Saturday.





Wind Advisory: Until 6 PM on Saturday with wind gusts up to 50 mph at times.

A strong low pressure system will bring rain changing to a rain/snow mix on Friday for Most of the area except for Mountain Maryland which will be all snow, with the potential of 8-12 inches of snow falling through Saturday Afternoon.

Blowing and drifting of snow will be possible in the higher elevations through Saturday Afternoon.

Winds on Friday across the area could gust as high as 40-50 MPH and then close to 50-60 MPH on Saturday.
