Instead of hammers and nails, it involves evergreens, shimmery lights and festive display windows.
"Any event is going to be what someone makes of it, so downtown Old Town Winchester here is a beautiful setting," says Dario Savarese, promoter of special events. "The lights are up, there are a lot of shops and restaurants, there are a lot of unique little niche places here for people to get that special gift."
Old Town Winchester is well known for the Loudon Street Mall, also known as The Walking Mall.
Every year, locals look forward to the Holly Jolly Old Town Celebration, an event featuring a wide variety of festive activities.
"There is a Victorian candlelight ball, during the day we'll have carolers, we also have some Civil War walking tours, the courthouse next to us will be open, there will be two carriages giving rides throughout the evening," says Savarese.
This year's events will feature a mixture of new and old activities with hopes of boosting the economy for downtown Winchester.
"It added about seven additional activities, like the Winchester mono railroad club will be open and have their display. There will also be a great Santa stomp so everybody can dawn their favorite Santa hat and tacky sweaters," says Savarese.
One book store will even have a book signing as well as a performer singing Christmas carols.
"I think it's just fun to see people out and about, the carriage rides that the Old Town Business Association offers are beautiful and really fun and people enjoy them," says Christine Patrick, owner of the Winchester Book Gallery.
The community can also get some holiday shopping done, take part in the festivities, or simply sit back and enjoy the show.
The event will be free to the public and it will be held this Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. For more information, click here.
