U.S. Postal Service officials are advising residents to bring in their holiday packages now, so the packages can be shipped out before next week when it'll be the absolute busiest.
Officials say numbers are expected to double next week and to expect longer lines. They say this is all to ensure that your loved one receive their present on time.
"It's beneficial for the customers to start mailing now. As time goes on, we get closer to the holiday, packages will have more processing going on, so it will take a little bit longer," says Jared Myers, Acting U.S. Postal Service Postmaster, of Hagerstown Post Office.
According to officials, more than 15 billion cards, letters and packages are expected to be delivered this holiday season through out the country.
